My name is Lee and I work with the father of this special young man, Josh Trahan. He is the only child of Toby and Brandi Trahan and they live in Groves,Tx where Josh will be going into the 8th grade. Josh was born October 2, 2000. When Josh was only 2 months old he was brought to Texas Childrens Hospital where he was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy. Josh has undergone 2 back surgeries to correct severe scoliosis.
Josh has now grown into a teenager and is as active as he can be with school activities. As you can see, Josh is 100% reliant on his wheelchair. He is now to the size and weight where it is difficult for his parents to transition him and maneuver him. He has to picked up and dropped off from school by a bus equipped with a chairlift. This disables Josh from being active in any extra-curricular activities because his parents dont have an equipped vehicle to accomodate him. With Josh's form of Muscular Dystrophy (Congenital Muscular Dystrophy( there is no promised life expectancy. It could be today or 1,000 days from now. Only God knows. Please find it in your heart to help these hard-working and exhausted parents obtain an equipped van so that they will be able to spend every moment they can with this amazing young man and he can live his life being able to see all there is to see.
