In May I will be going to Cambodia and the Philippines to work with three different organizations that are in the fight against human trafficking. This will be an intimate trip, where myself and Connie Rock (woman who took me on my first anti-human trafficking trip) will go to support the work of three very important organizations.
In Cambodia we will work with The Hard Places Community. The Hard Places works on various restoration programs for children that have been trafficked. They also work with street kids and other at risk youth on providing prevention skills. Cambodia is a top destination for pedophile sex tourists. These are Western men traveling for the intent of having sex with a child. Hard Places provides outreach into the sex tourist district where children live and work on the streets. They connect with the children through therapeutic art programs, computer, kids clubs, youth group and sports programs, which opens doors for the opportunity to provide a deeper level of counseling, therapy, English lessons and computer skills. http://thehardplaces.org/
We will also work with Agape Int'l Missions in Svay Pak, Cambodia. Agape has various programs that work to Prevent, Rescue, Restore and Reintegrate. Part of their prevention efforts is an outreach to men that are at risk of becoming traffickers or have been part of the system. They have a gym that offers free boxing lessons as a way to open the doors to develop these men and get them on a different path. By decreasing the demand we can interrupt the cycle.

We will then travel to the Philippines where we will work with Wipe Every Tear. Wipe Every Tear works with women in the red light district of Angeles City. Over 12,000 women are currently trafficked in this city alone. In the Philippines without a college degree it's nearly impossible to get a job. Gerlia was trafficked by her own family. She was bound with the chains of poverty due to the debt she inherited from her traffickers. 4 nights after she arrived in the red light district a Wipe Every Tear worker was able to rescue Gerlia. Wipe Every Tear has a safe house that pays off the women's debts, helps them rebuild their life by getting a college education.
