It takes a village

Friends and family, this isn’t an easy decision to turn into GFMe. However it’s a necessary step.

Our friend Monika and her mom Anna need a community of support. Everything started the morning of New Year’s Day, when I received a call from Monika that her mom was spitting up blood uncontrollably and asked if I could help care for her 7 year old daughter, Noelle, so she could take her mom to the nearby ER (INOVA Fairfax, VA).

Without hesitation we said yes.

After a few hours in the ER she got admitted into the ICU and eventually diagnosed with a blood clot in her lungs. Due to her having other underlying conditions an extended stay in the hospital will be necessary until she is able to breathe on her own without oxygen.

Monika’s mom arrived in the USA to visit for 6 months and help her out with her daughter during the summer. She extended her stay for the holidays until January 2023.

When it all happened a few days ago Monika barely left her mom’s side. Since Monika’s family is back in Poland our family and her friends Brittany and Vanessa have been helping care for Noelle.

Monika is a single mom trying the best she can to provide for herself and Noelle. If you know her, like I do, you know she is the last person to ask for help.

This is why her village decided to create a GoFundMe for her. We know that the medical bills for the ER and hospital stay will be outrageously high, we hope we can help by organizing community efforts to support them. Every bit counts and can help them go through this awful situation.
