The morning of August 25th, Carmen embarked on her journey to eternal peace, leaving behind the suffering inflicted by the devastating illness of cancer. We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate doctors, nurses, and staff from St. Michael's Hospital, Princess Margaret hospital, North York General, and her final destination at Scarborough General Hospital.

If you had the privilege of meeting Carmen you would have experienced her vibrant spirit, which was spicy, sometimes grumpy, but always guided by a heart of gold. She had a profound impact on everyone she met, becoming a dear friend to my friends and an adoptive mother to those without one.

So in the words of the beauty queen that my mom was, she would tell you: go and make yourself gorgeous.

We are asking for donations of any kind to help fund the end of life costs. We are looking to cover the cost for pickup, cremation, and paperwork processing (vessel for ashes not included). We are also hoping to cover her end of life expenses after more than a year of cancer treatment and hardship.

We will be hosting a celebration of life at a later date - a simple gathering at home. Details to come.
