Support Debbie's Fight Against Brain Cancer
Donation protected
Dear caring friends family and supporters,
3 weeks ago, our Debbie (the health nut you know and love) started to get seizures out of the blue. After CAT scans 2 MRIs and 2 biopsies, we got results confirming our worst fears: Debbie has aggressive brain cancer- specifically Stage 4 Glioblastoma with tumors that are inoperable. We’ve been processing the sudden news—then rallying plans to fight— so, to those of you hearing this for the first time; we’re deeply sorry.
We ask for your help and generosity to support the exorbitant medical costs needed for Debbie to fight for her life. Debbie needs a number of treatments to hit this from every angle. The Glioblastoma tumor is so aggressive you have to attack it with more than the standard care. Our aim is to prolong and improve the quality of Debbie’s life and possibly stop the tumor to give Debbie as much additional time with her loved ones as possible.
Words from Debbie:
I’m facing unexpected medical costs due to this prognosis. The treatments and medications are expensive, and I'm reaching out to ask for help covering the bills. Your support will make a huge difference in allowing me to focus on recovery. Every donation, no matter how small, is greatly appreciated.
The standard of care for Glioblastoma is not sufficient. I'm in a race with time to find the right specialists with the best outcomes to save my life and extend my life expectancy beyond a year or two. There are immunology vaccines available with success of 5 years and possibly more, but these are out of network, out of state, and require travel along with high costs of medications.
A little about me - ironically, I've always been a healthy person. always the one to eat healthy foods, dairy free, organic, gluten free and exercising regularly to keep in shape. Three weeks ago, I had a seizure and thankfully my husband took me to the hospital in 5 minutes. I was there in ICU for a week- a couple CAT scans, 2 MRIs and 2 surgeries later for biopsies revealed the tumors that were pushing on my nerves that caused the seizure.
Please donate what you can, and share my story. We know all too well that it is a financially precarious time right now. My husband and I are self-employed siding contractors, and we should be busy this time of year but no one in the industry is busy, which makes this medical journey all the more difficult.
Thank you!
This fundraiser for Debbie Harris is organized by Debbie’s daughter, Debbie’s sister, and friend. We are thankful for your help in supporting Debbie during this time.
