Elloitt Ortega is now on his SECOND battle with cancer. Elliott was first diagnosed with liver cancer when he was just 1 1/2 years old; he is now 4. He was able to receive a liver fairly quick. He had a liver transplant at UCLA. He has had a clean bill of health for the past 2 1/2 years now, however, Elliott and his family were just told a few days ago that he now has Leukemia (AML); the worst form of Leukemia.
Elliott and his family moved to Kansas during Elliott's first battle with cancer where his father, Ray Ortega, was able to get a job. His mother, Jessica Ortega, was not able to work while Elliott was getting further treatment for his new liver. When they were told that Elliott was doing well, Jessica was able to go back to work part time and things at home were going well.
Now, however, Elliott and his family are facing a new challege. This Leukemia is a fast acting and aggressive cancer. Elliott will have to have extensive treatments that will land him in the hospital for weeks at a time. Elliott and his family might have to relocate, temporarily, to Kansas city where Elliott can be better monitored throughout the process. Jessica is no longer going to be able to work and Ray is going to have to take days off. If you would like to help this little boy and his family, please help donate. Anything helps.
