Discover Discovery and Help Rebuild Our School

We met our first goal and we are feeling gratitude to the moon and back! This week, inspectors and adjusters were on campus assessing damage. We now realize the rebuild needs to include the prevention of another flood. This is going to require outdoor grading and the restructuring of landscape. We are increasing our goal with the hope of fully restructuring the property to sustain heavy rain and erosion.

Discovery Charter School is a K-8 tuition free public Nevada charter school serving 500 students at two campuses. Both campuses suffered water damage during the recent heavy rains in Las Vegas. Nevada charter schools do not receive funds for buildings and are forced to maximize per pupil funding to support salaries, curriculum, buildings, maintenance, and supplies. A catastrophic event takes money away from deserving students in order to repair and restore classrooms. We are a growing community with a mission to allow all to discover and grow. We are working tirelessly to serve students in the great city of Las Vegas with the goal of an expansion for an autism school. This recent set back is stunting our vision and mission. We want to move forward and offer our high quality education to all students!
