Leo’s surgery expenses

My name is May Hafkamp and I’m making this for my youngest daughter, son-in-law Maile & Juan Cueva and newest grandson Leonardo Gabriel Cueva.

This new family has been so happy with the blessing of their son Leo on December 26th, 2022. When he was born they were informed he had a heart defect, a ventricular septal defect. One of the more common heart defects in babies. They have waited until he reached 4 months, monitoring his heart to see if his heart would heal on it’s own, and unfortunately it has not and he will be needing surgery to repair it. The procedure is 5 hours long with a 4 week recovery period, the first week staying in the hospital.

Due to the hospital being a long distance from their home they are needing to find accommodations for during his surgery, and for the week of recovery in the hospital.

The parents will not be able to have their regular work schedule, and will have to take time off.

I’m writing this in hopes to create sufficient funds to go towards Leo’s surgery expenses and any other expenses this young family will have during this hard period. The surgery date as of now is June 7th, 2023 or possibly May 15th.
