Support Jacob's Journey to Recovery

As some of you may know, my brother, Jacob Weaver, was in another horrific accident just a few days ago on April 18th, a few miles from both of our homes. An individual ran through a stop sign and t-boned Jake and his girlfriend, Liz, who were headed towards Athens. The car was completely totaled, and Jake and Liz, who is 20+ weeks pregnant, we're trapped inside and needed to be cut out of the vehicle, and following extraction, we're both Life Flighted to Huntington to receive care at 2 separate hospitals. Liz and baby Amara are safe, thank you, Lord. Jacob, however, is still in Neuro/Trauma ICU and only God knows how his recovery and progress will go.
For those who are not aware, Jacob was in an automobile accident in 2020, where he suffered a serious Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) resulting in complete retrograde amnesia. Jake had to completely relearn simple mundane tasks such as how to walk, talk, write, read, tie his shoes, etc. Another bit of information, is that TBIs or brain injuries are compounding. That means it's like having one severe wound never completely healing, and you have another injury causing that initial wound to reopen, and another be created on top of it to increase the severity. This is what happened in Jacob's case, as he suffered from several brain bleeds and swelling/contusion to his brainstem.
We do not know what his healing and recovery will look like at this point. It is far too early but he is showing small steps forward each day.
We believe God has his hand on Jacob and will help heal him to fit the plans He has for him, but we would love more than anything to be able to help our mom more with keeping the stress and worry down.
Us kids want more than anything for our mother, Karen Weaver, to be able to be at his bedside for him as often as possible, without worrying about anything else. We know she is a woman who does not ask for help even if she may need it, so I, Kat, have created this GoFundMe for anyone who has asked us how they may be able to help support Jacob or Mom in his recovery, by offering financial assistance to cover her fuel, hotel rooms, food, etc, while she travels to and from St Mary's Hospital in Huntington, WV. Mom is retired and only works a part time position which she is currently unable to do, as well as her new cupcake business, Sweet Blooms Cupcake Bouquets. We could, honestly, not appreciate your support, prayers, and generosity more than we currently do, but THANK YOU! Thank you for continuing to pray for Jake. Thank you for continuing to pray for our Mom, as I know how hard it was on her the first time, let alone a second. Thank you for praying for our family. Thank you for offering to help care for pets and property while we spend time with Jake while he heals. Thank you for checking in and reminding us how many people love, care, and support us in these trying times. We cannot even begin to express our sincere gratitude to all of you. If anyone would like to give a little, all of the funds will go directly to Mom to help her with fuel, hotel and food expenses, now that she is unable to work. We want her full support and energy spent with Jacob, as I know from being a mother, 100% of your energy goes to your child when they are sick or injured. Anything left over will go towards medical bills that, I'm sure, will accrue throughout the extensive recovery Jacob will have to go through in the coming days, weeks, months and possibly a year or more.
Again, thank you all so much for your support towards our family.
