We have a family friend from church, Kenny, who has been battling cancer for several years. It started with colon cancer and is now in his liver and lungs. After multiple rounds of various chemotherapies, it is continuing to spread. Doctors are unable to prevent it from spreading. Kenny is only 50 years old.

If that alone is not bad enough, yesterday Kenny texted me the photos you see of his car. It simply burst into flames while driving with his wife and stepson. Luckily, no one was injured. It is the only car they have, and they could only afford liability insurance—meaning the car is a total loss and insurance will not be paying for it. Kenny is unable to work, and his only source of income is SSI. They can barely get by with basic living expenses. Add to that all his medical issues, and now he needs to get a car.

Through it all, Kenny continues to have an incredibly positive attitude. When I reminded him that God tries the ones he loves, and hope that God never loves me as much as he does him, Kenny laughed and said, "When one door closes, God seems to open up another one!"

I am hoping we can raise some money to help Kenny buy a dependable car and help pay some of his prescription and medical bills.
