Ashley Steacy's Road To RIO 2016!!!
Donation protected
Ashley Steacy plays for the National Senior Womens Rugby 7's team. They have qualified for the RIO 2016 Olympic games earlier this year, and just won a Pan American Games gold medal in Toronto. They also placed 2nd over all in the 2014/15 world series, and won Canadas first ever cup championship in the 2015 world series.
The national rugby team is centralized in Victoria, British Columbia, and as such, each individual player is required to relocate (from all parts of Canada) to Victoria, where they live and train 6 days a week. This means, leaving their families, education, careers, etc behind to chase their dreams to play Rugby and represent Canada on the international stage...
Each individual athlete is required to live in Victoria full time for training. This means that they have to pay rent (on top of a mortgage back home), groceries, utilities, etc... The funding available for amature sports in Canada is minimal (but appreciated). So every penny helps.
Ashley Steacy will be representing Team Canada at the 2016 Rio Olympics, this will be the first time a womens rugby team will compete at an Olympics ever in history...
Please help Ashley Steacy reach her goals, and fullfill her dreams of representing Canada at the 2016 Olympics in Rio!!!!
