"I'm beyond excited to finally have the opportunity to get top surgery at a clinic in Toronto this spring, after 3 years of waitlists and medical complications. But gender affirming top surgery is only partly covered in Ontario, so I need to pay the rest out-of-pocket and also get extra supplies and mobility aids to be able to eat, sleep, dress, and bathe while I recover. This is especially tough because I've had a disabling chronic illness and been unable to return to my job as a high school teacher since 2023.

So with your support, I'm aiming to cover:

- $3,550 in out-of-pocket surgery fees

- $200 for recovery supplies, including a compression recovery vest, bandages, and dressings

- $250 to help with household mobility aids, transportation, meals, and other recovery expenses

It's a pretty scary, exhausting, and expensive time to be trans and disabled right now. But I'm incredibly grateful for the support of my community and loved ones, and with your help I can't wait to finally close this chapter of my life and move on to a brighter, freer, new one!"
