Friend diagnosed with Lung Cancer

Hello everyone !
My best friend of 37 years has been diagnosed with lung Cancer. She is 68 years old and working 60 plus hours a week. She is going to need help with her medical bills and time off work. I could really use everyone's help to make this goal happen. I have been a Critical Care Nurse for 37 years and I am quite concerned just by reading the CT Scan findings. The tumor was found incidentally on a chest xray 3 weeks ago when she had pneumonia. She was seen by a pulmonlogist and had the biopsy. She received the results last week Thursday. It's a large tumor in the left lower lobe. It is non-small cell. The Pulmonologist recommendation is a lobectomy via thorocotomy. The PET Scan this week was negative for metastasis. In the event of surgical intervention recovery time is 3 months without complication. With limited PTO time, since most was used when she had pneumonia she will need to take an FMLA. At that point her health insurance with flip to COBRA, which is a huge payment each month. Laurie is the strongest, kindest woman I know. She gave up her dreams of becoming a Physician to be a wife and mother. She single handedly raised two sets of twins. She has a wonderful work ethic and rarely misses a day of work. She was present during the riots in Ferguson, and spent hours putting the store she works for back together. She is the type of person who I have known to give the shoes off her feet to someone less fortunate. If we all come together we can assure her that bills are the last thing she will have to worry about. Any contribution and lots of prayers are greatly appreciated. Lets make this happen !!!!!!!
