The Road to Recovery…

Donation protected
My name is Carlos Brown Sr. I am raising money in an effort to defray the cost of dental implants for my son, Christian Emmanuel Brown, who by the grace of God, survived an attempt at suicide. His jaw bone was replaced with part of the bone from the lower leg, which makes things a bit more complicated and he's missing 11 teeth, which would require between 4-6 implants. Studies show that approximately 49.5 % of adolescents have experienced some type of mental health episode but having a support system and seeking help is critical. My son is living and he is laughing post this traumatic event but not smiling. My goal is to see him smile again! Please take a moment to read HIS STORY below:

“There's nothing special about my story. A teenage boy that went and is still going through things that I’m sure other teenage boys have faced as well. The only considerable difference in my story is how far I let myself fall. I mentally felt bad for years. From the eighth grade to the point of my attempt, I fell so far because I neglected my mental health out of fear. I feared that if I went to either of my parents, it wouldn't have been taken too serious. The reason for that is I couldn't answer the question, "What’s wrong?” I am living and always have lived a blessed life. I have always had the necessities of living and then some. My mother moved away when I was younger, but she was still always there. Sure that was heavy, but that wasn't the answer, I adjusted to that. I had no answer for a simple question, yet I felt so bad that I attempted to take my life. The consequences of my actions have been heavy on my mind. My father and step-mother have been going through a tough time trying to take care of things. On top of that my father is trying to get replacements for all the teeth I lost due to my suicide attempt and it's really expensive. Any donation that could be made to help them see this goal through would be much appreciated.”

Update: Due to brining awareness to mental health by the transparency of my son sharing his story, a surgeon has agreed to complete the initial surgery for free. This cuts the cost to my family by roughly 75%, decreasing our goal from $65,000 to $17,000. God has shown Himself to be a provider, even through our circumstance. Please consider helping us reach our financial goal to ensure my son smiles again! Any and every donation matters!
