Donation protected
We are accepting donations to supplement our funeral and memorial expenses. Any extra donations will go to Layne’s son, Brayden, and to the Shriner’s Hospital, which is working in Brayden’s reconstructive surgeries.
Donnie Layne “Shaggy” Thrasher, late of Bowling Green, Kentucky, was taken from us suddenly on December 17, 2021, dying in a car accident in Butler County.
Layne was born on April 22, 1998, in Crossville, Tennessee, and grew into a man with a beautiful mind and a creative soul. He was incredibly smart, compassionate, loyal, a loving father, and the life of any party. Layne had the unique ability to teach himself any skill he set his mind to, and was known for crafting amazingly intricate works of art. His life was cut sadly short before he could realize his many military and entrepreneurial aspirations, but Layne’s legacy lives on in his son Brayden, the light and pride of his life.
Layne is survived by his parents, Cynthia and Ronnie Thrasher, his grandparents, Fred and Betty Thrasher and Rod and Ione Porter; his son, Brayden Sage Thrasher; his sisters, Cortni Thrasher, Chelsea Thrasher, Rashea Groce, and Clarissa Brooke Luna; and many nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts, and uncles. Layne was preceded in death by his uncle Danny Thrasher and his cousin Shelly Thrasher. A memorial for Layne will be held on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, from 5pm to 7pm at Hardwood & Strode funeral home, 85 Lois Moore Drive in Scottsville. The family invites those who knew and loved Layne to come pay their respects.
