Caring for Cindy

If you ever had a child come through Evergreen Park School District 124, especially in the years 2001-2014, more than likely, you know Cindy Mooney. Cindy is a lifelong Evergreen Park resident who served as Special Ed teacher's aide for the district during those years.
Currently, you might have seen her at local Evergreen Park Recreation Department events, as she and her daughter Brianna often help out at things like Day In The Park, Easter Events, the EPRD Dance Program. She is a fixture with the Rec Dept Evergreen Park Candlelight Theatre Program and for many years with the Evergreen Park High School Music Department.
In March, 2022, Cindy suffered a series of strokes that has landed her in the hospital and acute rehab several times. She is currently in her fourth stay at the hospital.
Shortly after her first stroke, she was terminated from her full time job, and is unable to work right now, due to partial paralysis on her right side. Though she has been put on Medicaid, and is filing for unemployment, some medical bills are starting to accumulate. Because of her inability to climb stairs, she has not been back to her Evergreen Park home since March and some serious repairs are needed to their house and yard. Her daughter, Brianna. . .again, another fixture around Evergreen Park, likewise helping with the Evergreen Park Recreation Department and the Evergreen Park High School Music Program. . .is currently working three part time jobs to make a dent in their financial situation.
We are hoping that friends of Cindy Mooney can help lessen the pressures of the medical bills and of maintaining/losing their home. No matter how minimal your help can be, it will be most appreciated and will go a long way towards getting Cindy and Brianna into a more stable situation.
