Help the Hoch Family

Donation protected
On Wednesday April 6th, Marc got a small cut on this left thumb.  By Thursday, the pain had traveled into his arm.  On Friday, Marc was rushed to the ER with severe pain throughout his left hand and arm. The ER Drs ran several tests, took x-rays, and blood cultures and found that Marc was suffering from Necrotizing Fasciitis (a serious bacterial infection that destroys tissues and muscle under the skin). He was admitted to the ICU and immediately brought in for emergency surgery.  As of Tuesday, April 12, Marc has undergone 3 major surgeries on his hand and forearm. They placed a PIC line in Marc, which will help provide easy access for medicine and antibiotics to be given.  The Drs are confident they caught the infection in time; however Marc has a long road ahead including future surgeries and rehab to regain mobility and strength in his arm and hand. Marc will also need a nurse to come to their home to assist with giving the medicine and antibiotics via the PIC line.

This is a shocking turn of events, as you can imagine.  The Hoch's were on vacation in Northern California when this happened and have not been able to return home since.  The girls and Jen are remaining strong for Marc.  They are trying to plan for his return home, although they do not know when that will be.  With Marc being the sole provider and Jen being a stay at home with two young kids, this is an extremely challenging time for their family.  Any help, no matter how small, is greatly appreciated.
