I am a general practice veterinarian and I wanted to reach out to you all about a very very special pup Dolce. He is extremely loving and sweet. If you met him you wouldn’t believe he’s a Cavalier King Charles as he has enough brut and personality as his giant dog breed friends. 
A couple of months ago we knew something was wrong when he hardly moved let alone play and didn’t eat anything. When his parents brought him to me I knew something really bad was ailing him. He needed to go to a specialty hospital to get surgery done of his intestines. They actually had to cut a section of the intestines off and re-suture the more normal areas. He healed well and was back to his old self in a few weeks and because the biopsy was not very conclusive for further treatment there wasn’t much else to be done. It was a mystery of how and why this happened. 
After 2 months of a more normal life he has fallen ill again. The specialists are perplexed and are suggesting another surgery to get more answers. He’s not eating well and is so sad.
Our hearts are broken . 

It is inevitable as a vet that some patients really touch your heart. Dolce, because of his personality and perseverance has very much made an impression on me. 
His parents have never thought twice of doing what’s best for him but because they have a young child and there has been issues with their jobs that are out of their control they are really struggling to be able to afford another surgery. The specialist say he has a chance after this to get better answers but best is to get it done at the specialty facility. Without the surgery his chances are bleak.
