A Voyage of Discovery
Donation protected
I have been presented with the “opportunity of a lifetime.” I was accepted into an educational study abroad program known as ‘Semester at Sea.’ Semester at sea has always been a dream of mine and it’s an incredible once in a lifetime experience! Opportunities like this don’t come our way very often and I’m grateful to get to take on this experience and make the most out of it. This program is a multi-country study abroad that emphasizes global comparative study with experiences that would be impossible to fully understand without this amazing kind of global exposure. Students from all over the world can participate in this study abroad program but of course, this kind of opportunity comes at a high price. I have been saving up every penny for the past year and have applied for dozens of scholarships, grants, and loans. However, I am still falling short to make this opportunity happen. I’m beyond grateful for any donation possible and thank everyone in advance!
A little more about the voyage I hope to be partaking in, in the spring semester:
Countries visiting throughout voyage:
Japan, China, India, Vietnam, Malaysia, Mauritius, South Africa, Ghana, Morocco, and The Netherlands!
Each country we stop in will have one field class based on the class you are taking. The field class is a hands on learning experience that is then brought back to the classroom to discuss later. I will be taking twelve credited classes throughout the semester while traveling. My major is hospitality and tourism management which fits in perfectly with this program AND all credits taken on the ship will transfer back to my home university. All expenses will go towards: visas, immunizations, airfare, tuition, books, room & board, etc. If you’d like to follow along on my journey, I will be making a travel page that my friends and family will be able to keep up with while I’m at sea! Thank you once again for supporting my voyage of discovery!
