A Mother's Road to a Heart Transplant

Hi, I am Ashley. 33 years young, a mother to a wonderful 9 year old boy and 10 years strong dating the most amazing man. I’m a photographer and doula specializing in grievance doula services. 4 years ago I was diagnosed with an aggressive failing heart with an ejection fraction less than 20 percent. In May of this year I was told my ejection fraction is now less than 10 percent and my cardiac output is less than 1.9. Which is end stage heart failure. I had a ventricle ICD placed and was delivered a shock due to vtach within 2 weeks of having it placed. My heart is failing at a rapid rate and I have spent my entire life telling others stories. Through art and photography and acts of service. If my heart improves with this ICD device which is small chance but still a chance, I will be able to receive a heart transplant. If it does not then we are looking at 3-5 years before my heart gives out, possibly sooner as it’s hard to know. I have set up this go fund me to help with medical expenses and to help with expenses for life. I have lived but not actually lived. There is so much I would love to do and see with my son before I say goodbye. Any donation is greatly appreciated on this unknowing journey we now face.
