Helena just shared her devastating news that I'm sure shocked us all.

Mia is now a little over one month old. On the day she was born I was told hours before her birth that the lump in my left breast was breast cancer.

1 in 8 women will get breast cancer and I became that 1 in 8.

Later that day I labored/pushed for 4 hours, then had a C section. While recovering from my C section, a few weeks later I was told my breast cancer is stage 4 because it had spread to my bones.

I had been unable to walk for 2 months without a walker, thinking it was pregnancy related, and limping for 7 months before that. A bone biopsy showed a cancerous mass was destroying my left hip bone. A week later I underwent a 6 hour total hip replacement surgery for the left hip.

After surgery, I was in the hospital for 4 days. It’s been a week since I was discharged home. I am now preparing for breast cancer treatment while learning to walk again.

This has been an extremely hard time. I will be fighting to live for Mia and see her grow up.

It will be a hard uphill battle for her, Mia, and Chris. We hope this fund will help cushion the challenge so her family won't have to worry as much while she goes through cancer treatment and raising a newborn baby.
