(many thanks to Tracy Moore for helping set this up for us❣)
It’s hard for anyone to ask for help. It's especially difficult for the kind of people who have been pulling themselves up by their bootstraps their whole lives. You know the kind, working hard at every single job, sometimes two or three jobs at a time.
That’s who LaHoya Curtis is… an extremely hard worker who pushes through daily pain due to chronic illnesses and yet still manages to care for those around her.
Right now, Howa (as LaHoya is known by her friends) and her housemate and longtime friend, Jasmyn (Stefi as known by her childhood friends), are at a point in life where they need help from their many friends and perhaps even the kindness of strangers.
Both women are dealing with many difficult health issues and have been planning to build a home on land that Howa owns. However, skyrocketing costs and inflation have made it impossible. Thus, this plea asking all of you to please consider donating to help provide some type of housing. As the home they've been renting, is being sold. Along with the rising cost of rent and no availability it's leaving them without shelter.
Jasmyn is battling an unbelievable mixture of autoimmune diseases (plus Parkinson’s, CIDP and Lyme disease), as only a warrior can do. As a result of these many illnesses, she is not able to work. Her health is as such that she needs to be in a place she’ll never have to leave and can live out the rest of her days in peace.
Her health and Howa's is as such that they need our help.
Currently, they are looking to purchase some type of building that can be renovated with septic, plumbing and electricity (pricey, but a necessity, of course).
Times are tough for many right now, and while it may be difficult for you to donate much, if many give a little bit, it will make a huge difference in both of their lives. Time is of the essence, your help is needed both financially, and in the search for a building to house both.
Another way you can help is by sharing this request.
Or you can donate directly to Howa’s Venmo or CashApp:
Venmo ( @LaHoya-Curtis )
CashApp ( $HowaCurtis ).
May you find it in your hearts to assist these dear women in their moment of hardship and help quell the desperation brought on by dire needs for housing. Having a safe place to rest, to live, is something every human should have. Please help as you are able. Thank you immensely and sincerely.
