On Saturday evening, my father-in-law, Robert Versluis, passed unexpectedly. Bob and his brother, Dave, lived together, sharing their disability and social security to make ends meet. Bob was a Vietnam veteran,  and served his country proudly. Fortunately, the VA covers a small amount of his funeral costs, but it isn't much. With Justin being his only child, and Bob being an single  man, the financial responsibility  of his passing will be solely on us. Due to the fact that he did not have a will in place, there will also be the costs of probate court to come.
