Anyone who has ever met Adam Metz recognizes his infectious smile and optimistic outlook in any situation.  "Cheerful in all weathers", Adam helped and was always there for others.  Many are aware that Adam is a proud man and would never ask for help without sufficient need.  Misfortune struck and we initiate this campaign to provide some financial relief to his family.

During January 2010, Adam became disabled with a complication and several surgeries on his right ankle and foot. What followed were recurring complications with his left ankle and foot over several years.  Adam was bound to a wheelchair from 2010 for the next seven years when he was finally able to walk with difficulty.  Due to this condition, he was unemployed most of this time.  From 2010 to now, Adam had open wounds on both ankles that doctors could not determine cause and would not heal.  With the help of his wife Adrienne, he maintained the wounds at home and through regular doctor visits.

Recently, Adam became ill again.  His legs ached; constantly in great pain.  He later learned he had developed a bone infection in his left heel and right foot.  The infection in his right foot became so bad that his right leg was amputated late February 2019.  Due to the circumstances, Adam and his family will need help to configure his home to be a safe and livable environment.  Many modifications are necessary in order for him to be able to function independently.

Adam began rehabilitation and physical/occupational therapy.  His goal is to regain his health and independence from the disease, though a second amputation of the other leg may be necessary.  Through all of this, his optimism remains.  He will eventually walk with prosthetics and be able to drive again (this will require modifications to his car).   As you may imagine, the medical and regular living expenses are mounting.

Adam is remembered by many as thoughtful, generous, and a true friend. We are asking for your help and generosity in helping Adam and his family.
