On Wednesday I called my friend, Rhonda, just to say hello. I left a message and then called my mom. My mom said Rhonda just left, have you two spoken? Then I received the news and was crushed. All that was going through my head was how could this happen to such an angel, praying I could take it all from her.
(Cuts out dramatics and gets to the comic relief)
Hey, it's Rhonda. Y'all know me. Currently, I am sitting at my kitchen table with my friend, Miranda, who won't stop pestering me about this gofundme thing. Because as we all know, it's embarrassing to ask for money. Once upon a time, three years ago to the day, I was diagnosed with stage 2 invasive ductal carcinoma. I beat that sh*t. But let me tell you, cancer seems to be more loyal than a boyfriend to me! I know right!? Except this time, it "jumped my bones." Stage 4, just like that. "Zero to 4 real quick" (in my best Drake voice).
Anyway, I'm on a fast track because I really don't have the same arrangement that I did when I was in Boston. I was in the hands of Massachusetts automatic insurance, which was amazing- and saved my life the first time.
This time, I got me a job, and some hella good insurance- with a really high deductible. Honestly it is a life or death situation at this point. Final level of Super Mario Bros- with Sledge Bro the alligator. Don't laugh! This whole thing reminds me of a video game!
Last week, I had an X-ray, CTA scan, and bone scan. This coming week, I have a biopsy, PET scan, and fertility appointment. And then by the end of the week I will be entering a trial study and radiation, as well as scheduling surgery to get my ovaries removed. I wanted more babies, but I don't even have any prospects so how bout lets just focus on me staying alive for Ms. Jada!?
Anyway, my loves, I never stopped paying it forward since the last time I received your support. So grateful for my family and friends and community.
And maybe the the most important thing to know is that my Mom says I'm gonna live forever. So you will be hearing all sorts of funny stories in Round 2- Cancer vs. Rhonda.
All My Love and Peace!
