Help Fund My Nursing Dreams

Hi everyone! For those who do not know me, my name is Shanice Probherbs, and I am the mother of one beautiful girl and part of the financial stability for my mother as she has lost her job due to medical reasons. I am enrolled in Long Island University Nursing Program and have one more semester left. 

Like many others, Covid has affected me tremendously financially. With over $41K in debt from Stony Brook University and no government help through federal or state grants, I am left to pay my tuition out of pocket along with prior obligations. In addition, the effect of Covid led me to fall behind on significant bills, severely affecting my credit score and keeping me from being acceptable for private loans.

I set a goal of $20K as that is how much I will need to fully fund this Fall 2023 semester, but any amount would be greatly appreciated. Additionally, I have applied to multiple scholarships hoping to win a few to help pay for, if not most but some of my tuition.

I finally found a career goal I see myself in, and I would hate to give up a dream I know I can accomplish because of finances. So for once, I am putting myself first in doing something I love. But it would benefit not only me but my family as well.
