I genuinely don’t know how to approach this situation. Back in February of this year, I was advised to set up a GoFundMe after my car was towed to Toyota. Unfortunately, I found out that my transmission was completely broken, and the repair would cost a whopping $8000. I’ve always been reluctant to ask for money because I believe I’m more than capable of handling this on my own. I was certain that within the next three to six months, I would be able to save most of the funds. However, it’s been almost a year now, and my girlfriend’s car is likely headed to the shop for the front axle.
I work incredibly long hours, and my girlfriend also works full-time, but we’ve been unable to save enough money to fix it. I’ve postponed crucial medical appointments and procedures to try and save money, but we’ve encountered more and more problems. We don’t have medical insurance, and neither of our jobs offers it. Consequently, when our child broke his collarbone, we lost our savings. To add insult to injury, my dog has been developing lumps all over his body, which has further exacerbated our financial situation.
Today, we received some food assistance from our church. Thank God. I honestly feel incredibly ashamed to ask for help, as I don’t have family to turn to, and I understand that everyone has their own financial struggles. If you’re struggling, please don’t even consider helping us. I’m simply putting this out here in the hope that someone might have it in their heart to assist us or genuinely want to help us.
We’re in a really bad financial situation unfortunately and could seriously use some help. Please don’t feel pressured or obligated to contribute. I’m just putting this out here with a hope and prayer that someone might be able to help us.
On a side note, I still pay $500 per month for my car note plus full coverage insurance and haven’t driven my car since January of this year. I could really use any help right now, and I would be eternally grateful for any assistance you can provide. (I’m also not using Toyota to fix it because it’s way too expensive. I found a transmission place that can do it for $5,900 instead of the $8,000 that Toyota tried to charge me. Clearly, I just need the cheapest and most affordable option.) Thank you so much.
