Help Save Our Home!

My name is Mark Smith and I’ve recently contracted an infection called Cellulitis Streptococcus in my right leg. My doctors say this is one of the most painful things a person can experience in their lifetime. It's deadly if untreated and seriously hard to get rid of. We don't know how I contracted the infection; they say it may have been from a bug bite. I'm raising funds and reaching out to anyone and everyone willing to help save our home and contribute to our bills. We're between a rock and a hard place and are drastically needing help. So far, I have spent 6 days in the hospital, and I may have another 2 to 3 months of recovery and need to see an infectious disease specialist. The total cost of my treatment and hospital stay was over $35,000. We're uncertain if everything was covered by Medicaid but we're hopeful. Prior to this infection we were already struggling to pay our bills, and this puts us in a worse situation. Most of my days consist of lying in bed and elevating my leg.

The importance of this is to keep our kids in a great place and save our home from foreclosure. We need $12,000 to help float us through the potential recovery period and all donations will go towards bills, keeping utilities running, keeping a roof over our heads and helping our 2 boys grow up in a great neighborhood.
