My name is Maxine and I have been involved in cat rescue for many years. DUNCAN is the latest stray I've taken in. This is his story.

Duncan was a stray and discovered with a very tight collar around his neck and symptoms of cat flu.

He was picked up by a rescue friend and taken to the vet. No chip, unneautered and with cat flu. Duncan was given a 24 hour injection by the vet who also said he had very severe stomatitis and needed dental work. In fact this poor boy was in pain and not in a good way.

A rescue place couldn't be found and Duncan had to be put back outside.

Fast forward a few weeks and I saw a post on fb about this cat. I offered to look after him and he is now tucked up in a crate in my garage with regular food and water, daily antibiotics for a bad lung infection and pain meds for his very infected mouth. Heat pads underneath his blankets keeping him snug.

Before Duncan can go to a furever home I need to raise the funds to pay for his neutering, dental work and further antibiotics if he needs them.

I named Duncan after a dear friend's husband who passed away recently. He was very fond of cats and Molly my dog used to make a beeline for Duncan's knee when he used to visit us with Cathy, his wife.

UPDATE Duncan is slowly improving. Hopefully it won’t be long before he’s well enough to have his neutering and dental work….

UPDATE Duncan continuing to do well and is trusting me enough now to have strokes. Can’t wait for 12th November when I’m taking him to the Manchester Cat Clinic for his dental surgery….
