Dear friends, family, and kind people of the internet,

Our good mate Matty Gallagher has been bravely battling Crohn’s disease for many years. Recently, his condition has taken a turn for the worse, and he is currently receiving urgent treatment at the Gold Coast University Hospital. Right now, doctors are unsure about his long-term prognosis, and Matty may face an extended stay in the hospital.

Unfortunately, because Matty fell ill with Crohn’s disease at a young age, he was unable to obtain insurance that would have otherwise provided coverage for loss of income. To make matters even more challenging, Matty has now exhausted all his sick leave from work, leaving the family in an increasingly difficult financial position during this uncertain time.

His amazing wife, Elise, has been nothing short of incredible in balancing work, Matty’s ongoing health challenges, and raising their three wonderful children—Levi, Harper, and Avalon. Levi and Harper are passionate about AFL, dedicating their time and energy to excelling in the sport they love. Avalon, on the other hand, shines in the world of dance, pouring her heart into her craft. Elise is now navigating solo parenting on a single income while doing her best to support their children in pursuing these dreams, all while standing strong for Matty.

The Gallagher family has always been a pillar of their community, and now it’s our turn to rally around them in their time of need. Together, we can help ease their burden by raising as much money as possible to support them through this difficult chapter.

Funds raised through this campaign will not go towards medical expenses but will instead help alleviate the financial strain on the Gallagher family. Your generosity will enable Elise and the kids to focus on what matters most: Matty’s recovery and maintaining as much normalcy as possible for the children.
