I am asking my friends and family for help for my family. Yesterday, August 11th, my parents' home caught fire. This is home to not only my parents but to my sister, brother-in-law, and my nephew. During the fire, my 69-year-old father became a firefighter himself, using every extinguisher he could find in the home until the smoke became too much for him. He had successfully put out the majority of the fire before the trucks arrived, but in the process, he suffered smoke inhalation, which caused him to have a minor heart attack as he was transported from the scene to the hospital by ambulance.

I will start by saying I am extremely blessed that my family is safe and alive. But with that being said, the aftermath of this has had an absolutely devastating impact on my family. The home is currently uninhabitable with no electricity and severe damage from smoke, ash, and water. My sister and brother-in-law lost almost everything they own, from their bed to their shoes, as their part of the home took the brunt of the fire. Fiberglass insulation and debris now cover everything they had. Red Cross was contacted and helped my family with a night in a hotel, but unfortunately, with this being a busy season, one night took all the support they were given.

Every cent of donations will go towards helping my parents and sister's family to keep on their feet and a roof over their heads until they are able to return home.
