I'm reaching out to you on behalf of my dad, Isidro Alvarez, a dedicated father of three and a loving grandfather of three boys named Emilio, Mateo, and Santiago, who are between 21 months and 6 weeks old. He also has his wife, Maricruz, his children, Diego, Eduardo, and me, Haley, as well as his daughters-in-law, Mariana and Teresita. Recently, he suffered a heart attack in the ambulance while on his way to the hospital. The doctors mentioned that he needed multiple stents to improve his heart's function. 

 However, due to the weakness of his heart, he required quintuple bypass surgery (coronary artery bypass graft x5) instead. This has been an incredibly stressful time for our family, especially since my dad recently started a trailer transporting business and didn’t have health insurance at the time the incident occurred.

 He’s always been the kind of person who would give the shirt off his back to help someone in need, and now we humbly ask for help. The surgery and the subsequent recovery will be a long and challenging road in many aspects including physically, emotionally, mentally and financially. We are asking for your support to help cover some of the medical expenses required. My mom will be dedicating her time to ensuring my dad's healthy recovery, which means she won’t be able to work. Additionally, two of his children are currently in school full-time—I'm working towards a bachelor’s degree in social work, and my oldest brother is pursuing an MBA—while my other brother is supporting his 6 week old baby and 21 month old toddler. Every donation, no matter the size, will make a significant difference and will be greatly appreciated.

 All donations will be used to help cover a percentage of all related medical expenses, such as the ambulance that helped save his life, the costs of surgery that’s allowing him to continue to be here with us, the subsequent stays in the hospital under observation since he was at risk for pneumonia and other complications, additional expenses such as the cost of using a LifeVest wearable cardioverter defibrillator (WCD), and physical therapy expenses associated with his operation and recovery. The road is a long one to recovery, since he won’t be able to work for 3 months. When he does go back to work, it will be with restrictions, so his income will also be impacted. If you know my dad, you know that while he was tough during the operation, his recovery will bring its own set of challenges. He has been instructed to rest and refrain from operating any machinery or vehicles, which will test his patience and strength in a new way.
