Help Sebastian Beat Cancer

Donation protected
No words a parent should ever hear, your child has cancer. This started our journey down this dark path that we continue to try and find light and find our way in what has become our new normal.

Sebastian is a energetic 19 month old who likes anything that rolls. He constantly is trying to figure out how anything and everything with a wheel works. He loves playing with his big sister.

This news has devastated the entire family. Sebastian has been hospitalized since February 27th. We went in thinking he just had constipation that was not resolving with what the pediatrician was prescribing. Sebastian had to go down for a MRI the next day and there it was a solid mass taking up most of his abdomen. It was devastating. I broke down. At that point cancer or not it was a huge mass to remove and would be a major surgery.

The next step was a chest CT to see if anything had spread. That was clear thankfully. The next step was a surgery to get a biopsy of the mass. The pathology confirmed that it was neuroblastoma. Yet another scan needed to be done to trace and see if it had spread to other regions. Than a bone marrow biopsy of both hips. Yesterday he had a centeral line placed.

Sebastian is a strong little kid but even the strongest of us need a familiar face and support when enduring trauma. Traumatic is the only way I can see fit describing this situation.

My blue eyed boy has a long battle ahead of him that he is going to need all the support he can get to get through. Again no tiny human should be fighting a battle like this.

The money that is donated will for towards medical care and devices he may need. Specialized diets that he will need at home and in home support that he needs to get through this. The tumor is making hormones that effect his kidneys and are causing his blood pressure to be unstable. At 19 months old he's on 2 blood pressure medications and his pressures have to be monitored around the clock. He has also had unexplained fevers that have to be watched and controlled. He will have at least 3 rounds of Chemotherapy before they will look and see if the tumor has reduced in size enough to surgically remove it.

My poor baby boy is in a fight for his life that only his body can control. It kills me daily knowing this whole thing is out of my hands and all I can do is support and love my child. I would trade everything in the world to make him better but that's not our reality.

Again anything is greatly appreciated a thousand times over and I can not express how much it means to me as a single mother with 2 kids. Even if you can only share his story maybe it will reach someone going through the same thing and make them feel a little less alone.

Here's to finding light in this darkness.
