My name is Pola, I'm 2.5 years old.
I got ill when I was only 5 months old - MENINGITIS caused by PNEUMOCOCCUS.
I have been in hospital for 4 long months, it was really horrible , awful time for my whole Family.
Every single day I have tried to fight this illness, but it still left huge damages...
I don't really move much, I can't turn sides, I don't sit, don't walk, can't really lift my head up.
I need the rehabilitation every day - don't really like it , but have to do it, otherwise it's going to be very hard to get back to normal life..
I have got big problems with my vision, I am taking strong medicines to stop seizures. I forgot how to eat myself - that's why I am fed by PEG.
The Speech and language terapist is trying to teach me how to eat.
I am hoping that one day , beautiful day I will be able to get up on my own two little feet and surprise everyone!!
There are many doctors looking after our precious, little Daughter. There is Pediatric Neurology, Neurosurgeon, Speech and language terapist, Optician and Physiotherapists. Pola attends classes stimulates sight and also taking part of classes with children who can't see and hear properly.
As a Parents we do absolutely everything we can to ensure Pola will get BOBATH therapy as often as possible - this is really effective, but on the other hand it's very expensive.
Very helpful would be also taking Pola to hydrotherapy classes as often as possible , but again - costs too much money...
