If you know Cali Baggett, you know she’s as resilient, vibrant, and kind as they come. Every single day she puts her all into being the best friend, sister, daughter, and cheerleader she can be. She shows up for her people, ready to have their back, knowing that her people will also have hers when the time comes.
On the evening of Sunday, August 3rd, Cali was with a few of her close friends, gearing up for her first day of high school the next day, when a golf cart ride took a turn for the worst. After falling from the golf cart while in motion, Cali has experienced severe trauma to her skull and brain, impacting her hearing, memory, and overall neurological function. She has also received extreme burns on the entire left side of her body from making contact with the pavement. These injuries have left her in immense physical pain and cognitive disorientation. After being transferred via ambulance from Williamson Medical Center, she is currently receiving care at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt, where she has received multiple CT scans, X-rays, and has had to consult with various specialists regarding her neurological and physical state. After her time at Vanderbilt, Cali will need to receive ongoing physical therapy, occupational therapy, hearing and speech therapy, and work with a homebound teacher to keep her up to date on her schoolwork. The current goal is to get Cali home safe and healthy, where she can continue to recover and try her hardest to enjoy her first year of high school. However, medical expenses rack up to an insurmountable degree, adding much stress onto any recovery process.
So we’re asking you, as our closest friends and family - those who know Cali and our family best - to help us get her back to her normal and lively self by helping us alleviate a portion of these medical costs. Every bit counts!
We appreciate all of you so much, and we know that Cali does too ❤️
