My name is Tracy Baylor and I run a small dog rescue in central PA called Turkey Run Rescue. I have been in the rescue world for about 20 years and have helped rehome over 1000+ pets over the years. It has been an emotional, physically strenuous and financial stress over the years but my spiritual strength and belief is what keeps me going. I have never reached out like this before but this dog is an amazing, beautiful and sweet dog that I need help with.
Annie is an eight month old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel that came into my rescue about two months ago because owners were evicted and had to find a place for her to go. Her background is a puppy mill outcast that was given to this family because she was "defective". Annie suffers from a grade 5 (the worst) luxating patella and since she has been in my care, she was also diagnosed with epilepsy. Her second day in our care she made a trip to the ER because she was having a grand mal seizure. I have taken her to a orthopedic specialist for assessment. At that time we did a cat scan to eliminate syringomyelia. Test results determined no syringomyelia which was a good thing. Thus leading us to determine for sure the epilepsy. ER and orth visit totaled $1700. This does not include her patella surgery which is estimated to cost $2000. We are scheduled for surgery on July 29. Prior to and after surgery we will continue chiropractic and acupuncture treatments. I am blessed to have an acupuncturist that is very generous. Between these treatments, excellent food and supplements, Annie is getting stronger but she HAS to have the surgery. Watching her try to run with the other dogs in a normal way is heartbreaking. This little girl accepts everything that is done to her with never a whine or growl. She is a cuddlebug that deserves the best. I want her to go to a home that can help with rehab but mostly will give her unconditional love. Once surgery and doctor release happens, she will be available for adoption. This has put a huge stress on my rescue fund. Any help is GREATLY appreciated by both myself but mostly Annie:) Thank you for your consideration--peace and blessings to all.
