Medical Mission Trip

Hi everyone!
I am hoping to raise the funding necessary to send myself to the Philippines on a medical mission trip with Joyce Meyer's Hand of Hope team. Joyce Meyer Ministries conducts medical and dental outreach programs around the world throughout the year to provide free medical and dental care to those in need.
I have been eager for years to not only mission globally but to be apart of a medical driven team. I have been a youth leader at my home church (Rolling Hills Christian Church of El Dorado Hills) for about six years now and have had the amazing opportunity to guide youth in their walk with Christ at home as well as on missions. However, I am ready to take the next step in my life to mission as an adult volunteer, completely solo. I will enter this trip not having a single connection nor prior communication with other volunteers. As frightening as that will be for me, I am beyond excited to meet my maximum discomfort level for that is where the greatest personal and spiritual growth occurs. I am ecstatic to use my medical background & community health degree to help others on a global level. I am craving to go now because I am hoping to continue my education soon to become a nurse and eventually make a future occupation of medical mission outreach.
I have been accepted onto the Philippines trip where I will be with a team providing medical/dental outreach and traveling to a different island each day to bring care to very remote parts of the Philippines. We will set up a general medical/dental clinic and treat the patients’ needs as they present. This trip is set from May 30th- June 8th of 2019.
I am so grateful for the love and support I have from my family, friends, and community. I am able to conquer each struggle I am faced with because of those who surround me. This is an amazing opportunity for me to grow in my faith as well as enhance my medical education and experience. The cost for food, lodging, ground transportation, interpreters, and travel health insurance: $1,500 and the remaining finances will go towards my flights to and from the Philippines.

I am hopeful I can reach my goal of $4,000 and be able to embark on this amazing journey. I firmly believe my purpose is to be a light to others and to spread Gods love to all that I encounter. This trip means everything to me and I am so grateful for not only the financial support but also the prayers, encouragement, and love being sent my way.
