Hello friends and family. Our family is reaching out for my sister Hannah. She has been hit with a significant illness. She will likely be out of work for at minimal of one to two months and possibly longer.

In December Hannah had what she thought was pulled muscle in her back. Since then the pain has continued to worsen. Her MRI didn’t show much of an injury but the pain has continued to worsen. Over the past weekend she had began to lose the strength in both of legs. On Monday 2/3 she was admitted to the UW hospital where she has been since, and likely will be here for at least this upcoming week. The doctors are unsure of exactly what is causing this worsening paralysis in her legs. At this time she can no longer use her right leg and can’t bend her foot. Now her left leg is becoming increasingly weaker. The MRI’s haven’t show much and the doctors are trying to figure out what’s happening. As of this time, they are saying she will need extensive inpatient rehab to hopefully regain her strength and ability to walk.

We have little answers at this time. Looking forward she will need inpatient rehab. We are also awaiting recommendation from the Mayo Clinic to see about getting another opinion from them. This would entail traveling to Rochester for further care. Hannah is looking at a very long recovery from things we are still not sure of what going on. This is a very scary time for not only our family, but especially Hannah.

Before this has rapidly changed her life, Hannah had been working 3 jobs, Stoughton hospital as an ER tech, Deforest EMS and an emt, and Stoughton EMS. In addition she’s had been a full time student for nursing. We are asking for prayers and support as she faces potentially months of rehab and recovery. We are trying to help Hannah stay on track so she can focus on her upcoming recovery and not worry about impending costs of rent, car payments, and other living expenses.
