Hello, my name is Sharon Holland, and I am the mother of Chloe Holland, who tragically lost her life to domestic suicide last year. Chloe was a victim of coercive control, and she felt compelled to take her own life due to the abuse she endured from her perpetrator. Unfortunately, the justice system's response to domestic abuse proved inadequate, with Chloe's perpetrator receiving only a three-year sentence for the devastating loss of her life. I am now actively campaigning to establish a specific offense of manslaughter by coercive control. To support this crucial effort, I am seeking funding for the campaign, aiming to raise awareness, engage with advocacy groups, organise community events, and collaborate with legal experts and legislators.
