I started as a medical student at Kharkiv National Medical University, Kharkiv in Eastern Ukraine, fueled by a passion for healthcare and research in medicine. However, my dreams were abruptly derailed by the devastating war in Ukraine, I survived in Kharkiv, Ukraine for 2 weeks after the war broke out living in the underground metro station with little to no food or water and sounds of constant shelling, which forced me to flee to the Netherlands for safety.

Now, an opportunity to pursue a master's program at Maastricht University as I continue learning the Dutch language has emerged, a chance that holds the promise of a brighter future contributing to the realms of healthcare and research to help make and achieve progress in the growing medical system.

My story is one of courage and resilience, but it is also a story of financial limitations. Hailing from a country where returning home is unsafe due to insecurity, I have worked tirelessly to save for the tuition fees. Yet, I find myself on the brink of realizing the dream, in need of a bit more assistance to bridge the remaining gap.
