Need Van with Chair Lift
Donation protected
I'm 67 and in May of this year I was diagnosed with PLS Primary Lateral Sclerosis a dibilitating spinal cord disease. I fell a year ago April when my right leg gave out on me and within two months I walked with a limp and my right foot dropped. Started with a cane, then to a walker, then a wheel chair and now a power chair as I can't walk more than a few feet. I also have numbness in the groin area and have difficulty with my speech.
My wife, Brenda, is 68 and has her own issues, has had three bypass surgeries to aid the blood flow to her legs, a stroke three years ago and just recently fought off vaginal cancer with chemo and internal radiation.
Our only vehicle is a 2003 PT Cruiser with low mileage but is worth little on a trade in. We're both on social security and have cut our expenses in order to get the balance on our manufactured home paid off in two and a half years, hopefully before I have to go live in a home and we lose the house.
It would be very helpful if I could get to the Dr. on my own and likewise be there for Brenda. She could also use my help doing the shopping and errands that we still have to do. Thank God my daughter was out of work and able to get us both to the Dr. but she has two jobs now so we need help.
Neither Brenda or I are good at asking anyone for anything but now there is nothing more we know to do on our own to resolve this issue.
Anything anyone can contribute would be so appreciated, God Bless You.
