I am Scott Flickinger and I have lost over 100 pounds before going through the process to have Bariatric Surgery with the Cleveland Clinc for the past 10 months.
I had over 60 appointments over these 10 months and did everything I needed to do. Going into this I made it clear that I needed to have the surgery before the end of 2015 in order to meet my deductible. The Bariatric department told me that was not an issue.
In November I was told I still needed another nutrition appointment. I became very frustrated because we had checked with our insurance company and they said I already met the requirements to qualify for surgery. The nutritionist argued with me but the advisor did submit to the insurance and I received my approval to have surgery.
I tried to reach my advisor to schedule my surgery but nobody would call us or email us back. I received a certified letter from the Cleveland Clinic on December 31st, 2015 that stated because I did not agree with the policies and proceedures of the Clinic they no longer considered me for bariatric surgery.
I was heartbroken. This was all caused because I spoke up about the fact that I had met the requirements and was right.
I have now switched to St. Vincent and they have been great. I have a scheduled date for surgery on March 2nd but now need to pay my deductible of $3200.00 by February 17th and desperately need your help !
I have been overweight most of my life and have missed doing many things with my family and struggled with my health. I need this surgery to enjoy life with my family and friends for the rest of the time that I have left.
I will be so thankful for any help you can give to make this dream come true.
