The Dolan Family

As many of you know, our dear friends, Tara & Sean Dolan, have had a wild year and a half with back-to-back cancer diagnoses. Sean finished treatment for Hodgkins Lymphoma in October, and about a month later, Tara was diagnosed with BRCA+ Breast Cancer. Sean had his six-month scan in April, and they were ecstatic to learn that there was no evidence of his disease! Amazing! Tara has had major breast and ovarian surgery, is currently undergoing her chemotherapy, and has an intense radiation course ahead. There is also the possibility of another major surgery for her. We all know that cancer SUCKS, but they have remained positive and sustained as much normalcy at home as possible. Fitz and Tess have been their typical busy teenage selves, but these “Covid-Covid-Cancer-Cancer years” (as they call them) no doubt impact them; watching both parents sick one after the other must be terrible. They all have seen firsthand what love-in-action looks and feels like through countless kind gestures from family and friends. They have been deeply humbled by and deeply grateful for every single act of thoughtfulness.

Back-to-back cancer years have been many things- physically exhausting, mentally overwhelming, and intellectually perplexing- but it has also been quite expensive. From parking to co-pays to prescriptions to medical bills, it all adds up too quickly. If you know, you know. Paying for cancer becomes a second mortgage when you go to finance it all. Tara & Sean have been SUPER reluctant to give the “go-ahead” on this GFM idea, but several friends have convinced them that they are not doing this alone and that others actually WANT to help ease this heavy burden. We know they would want the same for you or me. They do not take this lightly, and they are still a little uncomfortable, but you are invited to show your love and support to assure them that no person or couple should fight cancer alone.
