Hi! We’re Emma and Kathinka – aka Mini & Muttern – a mother–daughter duo about to take on the coldest challenge of our lives: a 65-day, unsupported ski expedition to the South Pole and kite back in November 2025.
This journey isn’t just about exploring Antarctica. It’s about resilience, healing, and proving that impossible dreams are worth chasing – together.
Why This Expedition Matters
Just a few years ago, Emma (21) underwent life-changing hip surgery. At one point, the idea of walking without pain – let alone skiing over 2000 km (1200 miles) in sub-zero temperatures – felt completely out of reach.
But thanks to an incredible team of surgeons and specialists, her dream of skiing to the South Pole is now a goal we’re chasing – side by side.
Our Mission
We’re aiming to complete this expedition with 0% CO₂ emissions – powered by our bodies, kites, and determination. This journey is about strength, sustainability, and showing what’s possible when generations work together.
We hope to inspire young people, especially women, to dare greatly – and to raise awareness about the importance of moving through pain, both physical and emotional, to find purpose.
Why We Need Your Help
An expedition to the South Pole is massive in every sense: physically, mentally, logistically – and financially.
We’re currently covering training and equipment out of our own pockets, but we need help with:
- Expedition logistics and permits
- Satellite communications and safety equipment
- Transport to/from Antarctica
- Insurance and medical support
Every contribution – big or small – gets us one step closer to the bottom of the Earth.
If you can’t donate, sharing this page means the world to us.
Follow the Journey
We’ll be sharing our training, setbacks, gear tests, and the real story of getting two stubborn women to the South Pole on Instagram, TikTok, and Snapchat at @miniogmuttern.
Thank you for believing in us.
– Emma & Kathinka ❤️
