Hi lovely friends,

I know I've been out of touch recently. I’ve been busy building memories, and I've also been facing some pretty heavy health challenges. After numerous medical tests and facing a series of rolling diagnoses, what initially seemed like a simple leg cramp has escalated into something far more serious. I'm now dealing with multiple blood clots in my leg, lung, and brain. I’ve suffered multiple mini strokes. It’s a miracle I’m still here.

Doctors have also discovered masses in my stomach. It seems unbelievable that I am facing the big C for the second time but here we are. This time, there’s no quick fix, its Stage 4 cervical cancer which means it’s metastasised.

It's a lot to process. And believe me when I say I’ve uttered some pretty remarkable strings of expletives.

Anyway, I'm reaching out to explain my radio silence and to ask for your support over the coming months. As you might have figured, I am not going to be well enough to work as a senior social/digital consultant.

I’ve been so fortunate with great gigs but my most recent contract is set to expire June 30.

With this journey comes uncertainty about how to sustain our family financially during this health crisis. While we have modest savings, it’s not enough to cover what I think will be a long journey. There’s the very real fear of going under while needing to focus on more important stuff. So I’m turning to you, my community for support.

Any help you provide will allow me more time to focus on on the cancer dance as she swings around again. It will provide my husband Tamkey and our 10 year old son Jet the mental space to look after me instead of worrying about mounting bills.

I treasure you all and the gift of our friendship. Now more than ever. Any support you can offer to navigate this crazy time will be incredibly appreciated.

As always, silver linings keep appearing, including today, meeting my Tibetan nurse (there are only 400 Tibetans in Victoria), meeting another patient here who only lives just down the road, and I believe there'll be so many more to come. The universe is like that- little angels appearing along the way.
