Hello, everyone! I teach at a school that currently is $6,000 in the negative on their lunch accounts. I have decided to begin this fundraiser to work toward paying as much of the debt off as possible. This will hopefully help alleviate some stress for those struggling and will provide needed aid to local families. If you would be willing to make a donation, it would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: After raising our initial funds, I was notified by the cafeteria that their original estimate of $2,000 was incorrect. The actual total negative lunch balance for my school is instead "a little over $6,000" and an additional $8,000 for the high school, for a grand total of $14,000.

After successfully raising over $2,000, I had reached out to cafeteria about seeing if I could raise funds to pay off the school system's negative balances entirely when I learned of this discrepancy. I am still so incredibly elated of what has been done already, and I am so thankful for everyone's generosity and compassion. Through you all, we have helped so many families already, but the scope of this issue is so much deeper than I realized. (Naive of me, I know!)

While this was quite a gut punch to what I had originally been told, I want to continue to raise funds for as long as possible. This new goal is a massive one, but I want to try to continue and help as many people as we can.

In addition to this, I am contacting local non-profit organizations and local businesses to see if they can help match any of our funds. Any updates will be shared as they come. :)
