Getting Over It

Hi friends,

I’m reaching out with a big ask: I need your support to stay in my home. Over the past ten months, my income has been severely impacted.

Several trials I was counting on were scheduled but all settled before they began. For example, a two-week trial in San Jose blocked my calendar, making it impossible to commit to other work.

In May, I received a cash advance for another promising trial—enough to cover one month of rent—but it, too, settled like the rest. This string of last-minute cancellations made it nearly impossible to pivot, leaving me seven months behind on rent, with the next month quickly approaching.

My landlord has been understanding and patient, but at this point, I’ve exhausted all options. My immediate goal is to raise $15,500 to bring my rent up to date and cover the upcoming month. Any amount, big or small, would be a lifesaver in preventing eviction.

I finally have healthcare—my first insurance in 12 years. That’s allowed me to begin addressing long-overdue mental health and neurodiversity concerns, specifically ADHD, autism, and bipolar disorder. I’ve long dealt with memory issues and typos that have impacted my work. Understanding these problems is crucial to regaining control and stemming the kind of “freefall” that brought me here.

I know that falling behind on rent is a symptom, not the root cause—but they feed into each other like a snake biting its own tail. Your support would be a powerful step toward breaking that cycle and building something more stable.

Your friendship and generosity already mean the world to me. Thanks to this community, I’ve managed to keep up with the basics—meals, pet supplies, my phone bill—and for that, I’m deeply grateful and  I love hosting karaoke nights and being part of this community.

I want to keep putting good energy into the place I love. With this housing crisis being made manageable , I can focus on my health, keep expanding my job search, and return to my creative work—without the weight of looming eviction.

Thank you for being part of my community and for considering support during this critical moment. With immense appreciation and love, Ginger
