Theo was diagnosed with high-risk neuroblastoma in September 2018. Neuroblastoma is a rare form of pediatric cancer affecting 600-700 children in the US each year. So far Theo has been positive, brave, and strong throughout all the treatments, and we believe he will continue to fight with as much energy in 2019. He will be undergoing various treatments in the form of chemo, radiation, surgery, and stem cell transplants at children's hospitals in Austin, Fort Worth, and Houston for at least the next year and a half.
We have created this page to both allow people to contribute to Theo's medical expenses and to give back to the charities that have provided comfort to us and other families fighting pediatric cancer at these hospitals.
We intend to keep 50% of the funds raised to help pay for our medical expenses and to donate 50% to charities that help families cope with the challenges of having a child with cancer.
The two charities we intend to donate funds to are B.I.G. Love and The Phoenix Stone Foundation. We regularly benefit from the gifts provided by both of these charities and found their generous gifts particularly helpful when Theo was first diagnosed with cancer.

The Phoenix Stone Foundation is a smaller charity that provides outreach programs for children fighting cancer and their families in Austin and San Antonio.
