My name's Rajaa Abu Rayya, 49 years old, a Palestinian mother from the Gaza Strip.
My children, grandchildren, and I are enduring unbearable hardship in the middle of this devastating war. My husband travelled abroad for urgent medical treatment before the war began, leaving us trapped in Gaza with no breadwinner and no source of income.
My three sons, Mohammed, Jamal, and Amal, and I live in our apartment, which was severely damaged by bombing. I have six young grandchildren, the oldest only four years old. My three daughters and their families (11 people in total) lost their homes to airstrikes and are now homeless.
Before the war, life was already difficult. Now, with more family members under my care, extreme food shortages, and a growing famine, survival feels nearly impossible. We tried to leave Gaza to reunite with my sick husband, but the cost to cross the Rafah border is $5,000 per person, far beyond what we could ever afford.
Today, food in Gaza is almost impossible to find, and prices are shocking:
1 kg flour = $50
1 kg sugar = $100
1 kg tomatoes = $40
We are 14 people, including 6 small children, with no income. My married daughters, who once lived happily in their own homes, are now struggling to find enough food, milk, and diapers for their babies.
We have fled from death many times, moving from place to place, searching for safety. But there is no safe place in Gaza, only hunger and fear. Every night, we sleep, hoping to wake up alive in the morning.
Your support can help us survive. Donations will go directly toward food, clean water, milk for the children, medicine, and urgent basic needs. Every dollar truly makes a difference for us.
My only hope is to keep my family alive, get us out of Gaza when it becomes possible, and start a new life with my sick husband. Leaving our homeland is heartbreaking, but we are left with no choice.
Please donate, share, and help us stay alive during this nightmare. Every dollar gives hope and life to 14 people.
