UPDATE AND SOME WORDS FROM KRISTA:

“I want to thank all of you from the bottom of my heart. This is and has been a tough road for me. Not only physically but mentally as well. Having all of you praying for me, sending cards, gifts, and continued supporting thoughts, words and prayers is what keeps me fighting. Cancer makes you feel like you are alone and isolated. I hate that so much, because I refuse to let it be in control. When it creeps up in unexpected ways, it downright makes me angry. Please continue to pray and send your supporting thoughts, words, and prayers. That's what gets me through this and reminds me that I am not alone. I also want to thank my family. They have been supporting me through this battle which I know is not easy. Mom, my auntie DJ, Rylee, and Karson have helped with making sure the puppies are well taken care of while I was in the hospital and during my chemo treatments. Shelby, Bruce and mom has been with me during every chemo infusion. Bruce has been by my side every single day I was in the hospital to make sure I am not alone down there. I know it was taxing to stay in a hotel each night and there were also many nights he drove home from Madison to Winneconne and then he was right back by my side by 8AM the next morning in Madison.

Praying that the bumpy road stays more smooth. Let me get through this last chemo with no set-backs and pray that it puts me in full remission and that the immunotherapy keeps the cancer away for as long as possible. Love you all and thank you again!”

We never imagined we’d be writing this after Krista's first battle 8 years ago with cervical cancer that she fought and won… but unfortunately, she is now battling another cancer. On May 21, 2024, Krista’s routine exam with her cancer specialist was normal, but due to ongoing pain and irregularities, further tests revealed another cancer - ovarian. She began chemo treatments on August 12, 2024. After surgery on November 6, 2024, it was realized that her diagnosis is actually uterine cancer.

Although she has responded well to chemotherapy, her journey has been further complicated by a small bowel obstruction and abscess. She was admitted to UW Health Hospital on 12/25/24 and was finally able to go home as of 01/06/2025.

Krista’s condition has required her to be off of work since 11/6/24, and the financial strain of medical bills is growing, as well as travel expenses for family to be with her.

We are reaching out to our community to help ease the burden of hospital expenses and ensure Krista can focus on her recovery and comfort. Any donation, no matter how small, would be deeply appreciated. Your support means the world to us, and we will continue to keep you updated on her progress. Thank you for your love, prayers, and generosity.
